- Missing drive... How do I recover data on a smartcard within the camera. I can only see my hard drives, CD and flopy drives when I start your program.
Look at you camera manufacturer if it supports a special driver software that will show the smart media as a logical Windows drive. If no driver is supported you can buy a memory card reader. There are several types: for notebooks (PC-CARD / PCMCIA) and for PCs (USB, IDE). Ask your local computer shop!
- No recovery with my camera... As a test, I had 20 pictures on a memory stick which was then formatted in the camera. I used the utility to try to recover the images, but none were found. The memory stick reader is a USB device. Does the utility not recover images after a camera format?
Maybe the camera wipes the full media (with a blank pattern) for formatting. Then all data will be lost forever. So some cameras seem to be not suitable for a data recovery but this case is very rarely...
- Alter of media data... Some drive recovery people told me that some programs write to the memory stick while they are looking to recover files. Does your program do anything to alter the files on a memory stick while it is looking?
The program does not gain any write access to your media. It will not alter any file or sector on your memory stick. So there will be no risk when using it!
