Attempt to kidnap

Sonepat: Four unidentified drunkards in police uniforms made an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap Mr Manmohan, husband of a woman municipal councillor in Mamoon-Bhanja Chowk area, here last evening. According to a report, they also tried to drag him into the van which they have brought with them. When Mr Manmohan raised the alarm, they fled from the scene. Thereafter, Mr Manmohan informed the police about the incident, which has caused panic among the residents of the area. However, no case has been registered so far. The police are still investigating. OC
