Crime wave shows no sign of abating
Bahadurgarh, March 6 (Ishwar Rathee)
THE CRIME wave that has engulfed this industrial town shows no signs of abating with murders, rapes, robberies, thefts, and abductions being the order of the day. The extent of the menace at this sub-divisional city can be gauged from the fact that several youths have been brutally killed within the last two months. On the morning of Feb. 25 a young industrialist, Anil Sharma, was found murdered in the fields of village Balor, 3 km from here. Anil's face had been crushed beyond recognition. Prior to Anil's murder, two youths -- Subhash and Parveen -- were found murdered on Jan. 27, near village Chhuchhakwas of Jhajjar district and village Baland of Rohtak district, respectively. In fact, the year began on a grim note when a youth, Sandeep Dabas, was found murdered in his Maruti car, near his residence, on Barahi road on Jan 1. Sandeep had gone to a local hotel with his friends. In another incident, two property dealers, the Kindra brothers, were brutal shot dead right in their house. One of their relatives was also injured seriously in the shoot-out. Soon after this, two industrialists, father and son, were shot dead on the premises of their factory near Kanoda village, under Bahadurgarh Sadar Police Station. Another property dealer, Ram Kanwar Rathee of Bahadurgarh was found murdered near Jhajjar. The police recovered Ram Kanwar's charred body from a dry drain. He had gone to purchase a car with his friends. As if all this wasn't enough, a man and his nephew were shot dead in village Mandothi, under Sadar police station. In yet another incident, Hari Om, son of Ch. Sube Singh of the local Jatwara mohalla, was stabbed to death in a busy bazar by about four unidentified youths. Prior to this incident, one youth was stabbed to death on the National Highway (NH 10), near Asodha village.
