Gang of thieves busted, 3 held

SONEPAT, Dec 31 -With the arrest of three persons, the CIA staff today claimed to have busted an interstate gang of thieves operating in parts of Haryana, Delhi and UP for the past few months.
The Superintendent of Police, Mr Paramjit Singh Ahlawat, told mediapersons here today that the arrested persons had been identified as Raj Singh of Butana village in the district, Dharminder, alias Baloo, and Sunil of Based in UP.
He said during the course of interrogation, the arrested persons confessed before the police that they along with Pardeep and Rajbir of Kaloda village in Panipat district and Sakil of Shamli in UP and some others, had kidnapped a person of Kandhla Masjid area of Delhi and demanded Rs 3 lakh as extortion money from his family. He was taken to a field where he was kept for a week. After the non-receipt of the extortion money, he was murdered.
The Superintendent further said the culprits also confessed to their involvement in a case of snatching of a motor cycle about five months ago.
He said the police has also recovered stolen goods worth thousands of rupees from their possession.
Meanwhile, the Kundli police has arrested two persons, Lakki Singh and Pardeep Kumar of Bahadurpur village in Saharanpur district and recovered a stolen car from their possession. The arrested persons have confessed that they had stolen eight cars from Delhi and two from Chandigarh, Mr Ahlawat said.
He said the Kundli police had arrested two persons, Jagdish of Pakasma village in Rohtak district and Pankaj of Etawah district in UP on the charge of theft and recovered stolen goods worth thousands of rupees from their possession. Cases have been registered against all arrested persons.
