Patwari burnt to death in sleep

Old couple beaten up by son: Lakhi Ram (75) and his wife Angoori Devi (70) were beaten up by their son Prem Singh and his wife in the house at Mohammdabad village about 15 km from here yesterday. According to a report, Prem Singh had retired from the army last night and was demanding his share of the ancestral land. Hearing the commotion, some neighbours reached the house and got the elderly couple freed from the alleged assailants. Both the injured husband and wife were immediately hospitalised. However, no case has been registered so far.
