Gang of robbers busted, two held

The police here has busted a gang which was actively involved in heinous crimes for the past many months in the region. Mr Rajinder Singh, Superintendent of Police, said here today that a financier was robbed of Rs 6.5 lakh at gunpoint by the gang in April last year while he was going in his car in the HUDA complex here. The SP said the police had arrested one person and recovered a country made pistol and Rs 40,000 from him. He said Mr Virender Arora who was running Trimurti Finance Company here was going back to his house at night when a few persons robbed him. On a tip off, the police arrested Rishi Pal, who, on interrogation, disclosed the names of other members of his gang. Acting on the information, the police yesterday arrested Dr Parmod Saini of Saharanpur.

The SP said the police had recovered the pistol and cash from him, adding that Dr Saini was doing practice at Saharanpur and all conspiracies for committing various crimes were hatched at his clinic. He said till now two persons, Rishi Pal, working as a munshi of an advocate in Panipat, and Dr Saini had been arrested. The SP said both these persons were actively involved in many more crimes which the gang committed in this part of Haryana. He said that Dr Saini joined the gang about two years ago. It was suspected that the same gang looted Rs 8.5 lakh from employees of a petrol station earlier.
