Criminal escapes

PANIPAT, Sept 1 — Jagbeer, a hard-core criminal, allegedly involved in the murder of Ranbeer of Atta village on December 12, 1998, has escaped from police custody from the Civil Hospital, Karnal. A case has been registered against the four police personnel on surveillance duty at the hospital. Jagbeer was lodged at Karnal jail. On August 19, he complained that he was suffering from dysentery and he was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karnal, for treatment. He escaped from the hospital on August 24. The police has launched a manhunt to arrest the criminal.
