Rohtak, March 31 (HT Correspondent)
Union Minister of State for Home I.D. Swami has expressed concern over the increasing “criminalisation” of politics and no proper check so far on such a trend. He said the trend was “dangerous” and its fall out could have disastrous effects if the people continue to take it lightly. Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of the convocation function of Lalnath Hindu College here yesterday, Mr I.D. Swami appealed to the younger generation to be prepared to fight the challenges of socio-political evils, which, he stressed, had been getting stronger. He said the students ought to know the rich heritage of social and cultural values and this could became a good weapon to counter such threats. He said one should not only aim to get an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in a subject with good marks, but should be able to succeed when required to to face challenges of life. He said education does not only help oneself to be able to read and write, but it was a ladder for full development of a human being.
