Driver robbed of vehicle

ROHTAK, Sept 4 — A truck driver was allegedly robbed of his vehicle and some cash near Sampla town last night. According to police sources Mr Dharam Vir of Kalana village in Sonepat district was going to Delhi in his truck loaded with plastic items. When he reached near Kharawar village, two youths boarded the vehicle and offered him sweets laced with a poisonous substance. The driver said he fell unconscious just after he consumed the sweets and found himself tied with ropes at Pipli village near Kharkauda on regaining consciousness. He alleged the robbers had, meanwhile fled with the vehicle and cash amounting to Rs 11,300. The Sampla police has registered a case under Sections 379 and 328 of the IPC.
