Woman among two attacked

Sonepat, February 1
At least a dozen persons armed with lathis and other weapons forced their way into a house and assaulted two persons, including a woman and fled after injuring them at Palri village about 15 km from here last evening. According to a report, the injured persons were identified as Sonu a bicycle mechanic and his brother’s wife Mrs Kamlesh. Both the injured are being treated in the local civil hospital and are stated to be out of danger.

It is alleged that one of the assailants Pappal has earlier roughed up Sonu in his shop when the latter asked him to pay Rs 25 for the repair of the bicycle. Thereafter Pappal left the shop and threatened him with dire consequences if he demanded the money from him. The police are investigating the case. However, no arrest has been made in this connection.
