3 brothers among 4 murdered

HISAR, Jan 3 -Four persons, including three brothers, were murdered in the district last evening.
According to the police, three brothers were shot dead by some armed persons at Mangali Surtia village, about 25 km from here yesterday. An old enmity is said to be the reason behind the murders.
The assailants reportedly formed three groups and killed the victims at three different spots in the village. The first group of three persons accosted Daleep Singh (48) when he was returning from his fields at 6 p.m. and opened fire at him. He died on the spot.
After half an hour later another group of four persons attacked his brother Ram Murti (36) at Panchayat Ghar. He also died on the spot. The third group entered into their house and killed Krishan Kumar (34), younger brother of the two deceased.
In another incident Udai Bhan (27) was murdered at nearby Mirjapur village last evening.
According to the police, Ram Niwas and Phool Singh, of the same village, allegedly attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and sticks when he was working in his fields. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. An old enmity over a land dispute is said to be the reason behind the attacks. Cases has been registered.
