Family looted at gunpoint

ROHTAK, April 1 — A family was looted at gunpoint near Meham town, 30 km from here, today. They were going in a car when the incident occurred. According to the complaint by Mr Ravi Kant Verma of Daryaganj in Delhi, the incident took place at about 4.30 a.m. near Bhaini Maharajpur village when they were coming towards Meham from Jind. He said four youths armed with a pistol intercepted their Fiat car and took away all valuables and some cash. He added that the youths, who were in a Jeep bearing no registration number, asked them to get out of the car after looting them and then deflated the tyres before fleeing. A case under Sections 392 and 397 of the IPC has been registered.
