Gangster active in Haryana arrested in Delhi

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has apprehended a desperate gangster and his associate and recovered one country-made pistol and five live cartridges from their possession. The accused have been identified as Yashvir Singh, alias Yashvir Fauzi (32), a resident of Gautambudh Nagar and Ved Prakash Dagar (48), a resident of Bulandshahar.

Yashvir was involved in at least 21 cases of murder, attempt to murder, robberies, dacoities in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off that Yashvir would be coming to Sarita Vihar to meet his associate on February 8, and accordingly, the sleuth nabbed him while he was coming in a motorcycle. Based on this tip-off, his associate Ved Prakash was nabbed from Sarai Kale Khan on February 10.

During interrogation, Yashvir disclosed that he was recruited as a constable in BSF in 1991 and later dismissed since he had provided fake certificates. He also said that he and Ved Prakash waylaid a Santro car at Jhira Ghati National Highway in Madhya Pradesh and killed one K. K. Jain, a jeweller. After killing him, the accused looted Rs 25 lakh and 86 kilograms of silver from his possession and disposed his body.
