Cops awarded for returning 75,000 to owner

Mr Hanif Qureshi, SP, Rewari, has awarded citation to Head Constable Jaswant Singh and constable Jai Bhagwan who showed honesty by returning a cash of Rs. 75,000 to its owner Prem Swarup of Katla Bazar here recently. The district police chief further assured them that they would also be honoured at the Republic Day function here on January 26. It is reported that when they were going from Subzi Mandi to the police lines recently, they suddenly found a packet containing currency notes of Rs 75,000, lying abandoned on the road near Katla Bazar here.

They informed shopkeepers that if someone had lost his money bag, he could collect it from the police lines after furnishing details in this regard. Soon afterwards, disappointed Prem Swarup, along with several other shopkeepers of area, came to police lines. Rs 75,000 was returned to him in the presence of Inspector Magan Singh and SHO Tula Ram.
