Father held for infant’s murder

Yamunanagar, January 11. The police has arrested two members of a family for allegedly killing an infant boy. According to the police, Saroj, a resident of Gilaour village, in her complaint lodged yesterday alleged that her husband and mother-in-law had killed her one-and-half-year-old son Abhishek.

She alleged that her husband and mother-in-law Parmola Devi used to beat her up regularly. She further alleged that her husband and mother-in-law had thrown her out of the house and kept her son with them.

She said she had been staying with her parents since then and was not informed about the death of her son who was allegedly murdered about two days ago.

She was informed about the death after he was buried. Following the complaint, the SDM, (Jagadhri) Ms Renu Phulia went to the burial ground at Gilaour village and got the body exhumed. The body was later sent to the Civil Hospital. The police has arrested the accused under Sections 302, 201/34 of the IPC and sent the viscera to forensic laboratory at Karnal.
