X-rated cassettes seized

The district police have seized 85 pirated and 27 pornographic cassettes from two shops in Haripura Mohalla at Ward No. 10 here today. Two persons were arrested in this connection. According to the police, Mr Suresh Kumar, MD of Super Cassettes Industries at Noida, complained that Ravinder and Anil, two shopkeepers in the town, were selling pirated CDs, using the trade mark of their company. Consequently, their company has been suffering losses. A police team raided the shops later and recovered the pirated and pornographic cassettes. Separates cases under Sections 420 and 292 IPC, 63 of Copyright Act and 7 Cinema Act were registered against both the shop owners and presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate. They were sent in judicial remand till February 13.

PISTOL RECOVERED: The Bahadurgarh police recovered a pistol made in the USA and six cartridges from Rajesh alias Raju of Kulasi village today. He was arrested under Arms Act.

STOLEN CARS: The Chief Judicial Magistrate sent the prime accused in the fake vehicle registration case, Anadem alias Anar, alias Ali in five days’ police remand today. He appeared before the CJM after the Crime Branch of the district police arrested him.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had stolen 14 Maruti cars from Delhi and Gaziabad and sold four cars to Makhan Singh of Hisar, seven to Rakesh Faugi and four to Raju. He further said that these men prepared fake registration numbers and other documents of the cars in league with registration clerks and then sold them. The district police have recovered 32 vehicles and arrested 17 persons in this connection.
