Robbers decamp with booty worth Rs two lakh

In a spate of looting and theft incidents, robbers struck at several places and decamped with booty worth about two lakhs in past 36 hours. According to police sources, a group of robbers broke open shutters of atleast 15 shops in Shourie Cloth Market here. Moreover, Rs 65,000 was stolen from a shop in Mansarovar Colony. The robbers reportedly succeeded in fleeing away with cash amounting to about Rs two lakhs. The police took help of sniffer dogs and finger print experts to get a clue about the thieves. No arrest has been made so far. Meanwhile, in another incident, four armed youths looted Rs 14,000 from a petrol pump at Bhaluat village near here last night. According to complaint, the youths, who came in a jeep (No. HR6C-5025), looted employee of the petrol pump Jasbir Singh at gun point at about 8.30 pm. A case under Section 392/34 of IPC and 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act has been registered in this connection.

11 dacoits arrested in Shankarpur
New Delhi: The Delhi police on Sunday morning arrested 11 dacoits from Shankarpur village. The dacoits prowled around four houses and injured eight people. Two suitcases, two blankets, silver jewellery, two iron rods and two wooden sticks were recovered from the culprits. Of the 11 arrested, one is from Rohtak and the rest from Shankarpur village. While Desh Raj is from Rohtak those from Shankarpur are Bhola, Shunder, Shisham, Kaku, Shokin, Nandu, Lakshman and Sunder. Two others associates with a common name "Pappu" were also arrested. According to the police, at around 2.30 am, the accused, armed with iron rods and sticks, attacked Satya Sai Ashram at Jhingola at Alipur on the banks of river Yamuna and walked away with Rs 800, one suitcase, two blankets, a pair of shoes, two wrist watches and three silver coins of Baba Ram Baram, 62, and Hira Devi, 62, who lived there. The accused than attacked one Asha Singh, 65, from the village and walked away with 30 grams of gold, Rs 3,000 cash and one suitcase, but not before hitting her on the head with an iron rod. The accused then moved to the house of Jogender but had to go empty handed as he refused to open the door. Their next destination was the house of Arjun Singh, who was in his house along with his wife, three sons and two daughters—in law. They robbed their house and stole 50 grams of gold, one suitcase and silver jewellery and injured Arjun Singh's wife Tiaro Bai and their daughter in law Reshma. While Tioro Bai has been admitted to the LNJP hospital with head injuries Reshma is admitted in Hindu Rao again with head injuries. The police was informed and it reached the spot at around 4.30 am. The police followed the foot marks on the banks of the river Yamuna and reached village Shankarpur which is about eight km's away from Alipur. The police was accompanied by the villagers from Alipur and those who were attacked. The villagers identified the accused in Shankarpur which led to their subsequent arrests. A case of dacoity has been registered in the Alipur police station.

Petrol station looted

ROHTAK, Jan 16 — Jeep-borne youths allegedly looted a petrol station at gunpoint at nearby Bhalot village today. According to the FIR lodged by Jasbir, an employee at Kapoor Chand Fateh Chand petrol pump, four youths came to the petrol station in a jeep (HR 06 C-5035) around 8.30 pm and asked him to fill petrol for Rs 100. They demanded a receipt and followed him to the cabin. Suddenly one of them took out a pistol and the others searched for cash. They allegedly escaped with cash worth Rs 14,329, nine cans of mobil oil and a calculator. The police has registered a case under Section 392/34 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act.
