Student murdered, body found burnt

ROHTAK, Jan 19 - A student of the local Jat College was allegedly murdered and the body was set afire by putting it on a heap of cow dung cakes at the Kalhawar village yesterday. The body was almost completely burnt.
The deceased has been identified as Vikram, a student of B.A.-I.
When contacted, the SSP, Mr Subhash Yadav, said the charred body was beyond identification. However, he said the police found a shoe near the spot of incident, which led them to identification of the body. He said remaining part of the body would be sent for DNA testing as it was not fit for a post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered under Section 302 and 201 of IPC on the complaint of Jai Singh, a member of the block samiti.
Meanwhile, three car-borne youths snatched Rs 65,000 from a bidi supplier on the Badli-Najafgarh road today.
According to police sources, a Maruti car intercepted the Tata-407 and decamped with the money. They also took away the keys of the vehicle.
A case has been registered.
