Minor girl gangraped, father assaulted

Sirsa, January 7
A minor girl was reportedly gangraped in Mangala village of Sirsa district in Haryana. The rapists also assaulted the father of the 14-year-old victim with sharp-edged weapons when he protested against the act. According to the information received here, the child was abducted by Darshan, Balwinder and two others when she went out to relieve herself in the fields. She was raped by the accused in a neighbouring house.

After some time when her father came out of his house, he heard the cries of his daughter and reached on the spot of the crime. When he tried to protest he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons. The injured father was admitted to the local hospital and the police is investigating. The police said the medical examination of the girl had confirmed the rape. The police has registered a case against the accused and have started investigation. — UNI
