Hindustan Times, January 7, 2001 Gangsters kill one person, injure another seriously HT Correspondent (Panipat, January 6) ONE PERSON was reportedly killed and another seriously injured by a gang of criminals on Friday night in the Camp Colony here. The gang, consisting of a dozen members, was armed with knives and swords. Six of them have been identified as Ashok, Shoki, Sonu, Vikka, Kala and Vijay. The police have registered a case under section 302, 323, 324, 148 and 149 of IPC in the Model Town police station. However, no arrest has been made so far. According to information, one Ramesh of Kranti Nagar, along with his friend Surender was going to Ashok's house in Friends Colony on a two-wheeler to collect payment. When they reached the Kacha Camp, the gangsters intercepted them. The gangesters allegedly attacked them with knives and swords. In this murderous attack, Ramesh reportedly died on the spot while Surender was seriously injured. He was taken to Panipat civil hospital. Later, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to PGI, Rohtak. |
