Hindustan Times, January 12, 2001 Group clash claims one life in Rohtak HT Correspondent (Rohtak, January 11) ONE person was killed and two others were injured in a clash between two groups at Sunaria Khurd village near here, on Wednesday night. There had been enmity between the two groups of the village over the issue of sharing of water, the police said. Following a slight provocation yesterday, members of one group, armed with lathis and sharp edged farm implements, attacked the rival group at night. Three persons namely, Chand Ram, Narain Singh and Dharam Singh were wounded in the assault. The injured were rushed to the Pt. B. D. Sharma PGIMS here, where Chand Ram succumbed to injuries. The Sadar Police on the basis of a complaint by the head of one group, Dharamvir, registered a case against Raj, Leelu, Mahavir, Pratap and Jaiveer of the rival group. No arrest has been made so far in this connection. |
