Robber shoots one, self

A person was shot at by a robber, who attempted to snatch cash from him in Pasor village today. On being unsuccessful in the bid, the robber also shot himself.
According to information, the victim, Mahender, son of Deendayal, was going towards his village on foot from bus stop. He was carrying Rs 68,000, which he withdrew from Punjab National Bank branch in nearby Badli village. The police said that as the victim reached an isolated place, the robber tried to snatch cash from him. When he challanged the robber, he fired two shots injuring him seriously.In the meantime, some villagers working in the fields, gathered on the spot and surrounded the accused, who then shot himself in the head. The accused was identified as Rakesh, an unemployed youth of Badli village while the victim was a health department employee in Delhi.
