Robbers kill old man, loot cash

PANIPAT, Jan 19 - An aged couple has reportedly been murdered yesterday by some persons in the premises of a spinning mill near Jattipur village under Samalkha Police station in the district. Cash amounting to Rs 75,000 was also reportedly looted.
According to information, an old couple Banarasi Dass and Shimla Devi had been residing in their spinning mill - Uggarsain Spinning Mill - near the village for the past one-and-a-half year.
The incident came to notice when an electrician entered their room and found the couple dead. He reportedly informed about it to the couple's sons who were residing in the HUDA sector here.
On receiving the information, the Samalkha police reached the factory. The bodies brought for a post-mortem examination in the local Civil Hospital here. In the post-mortem report, Banarasi Dass had received head injuries. His viscera has been sent for a medical examination to Karnal to ascertain the cause of death.
However, Shimla Devi suspectedly died of shock after seeing the murder of her husband.
A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered.
