Woman, son stabbed to death

SONEPAT, April 5 — Shamma Kaur, alias Santosh (38), and her son Sonu, alias Khazan (16), were stabbed to death by certain persons of a rival group at Saidpur village, 25 km from here, yesterday.
According to preliminary reports, Mr Prahalad, another member of the family, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to Medical College Hospital in Rohtak.
Some altercation between the members of the rival groups is stated to be the reason behind the murders. A case has been registered and the culprits arrested.
Earlier, angry villagers had held up traffic on the Kharkhauda-Delhi road in protest against police inaction. The blockade was lifted after Mr Hardeep Singh Doon, DSP, intervened.
