Girl abducted from MDU campus

ROHTAK, Nov 27 — A teenaged girl was abducted allegedly by a youth from the Maharshi Dayanand University campus yesterday. The police has registered a case of kidnapping and threat to kill against the accused on a complaint by the father of the girl.
According to police sources, the girl who had gone to attend college did not return to her house. Father of the girl Mr Narender Kumar alleged that his daughter had been abducted by a youth identified as Chetan Sharma residing on university campus. The complaintant claimed that the accused had also threatened to kill his daughter if police help was sought to trace the girl.
It is reported that some youths who were on a motorcycle had also made a similar attempt in Sector 14 on Wednesday last also when a girl aged 20 years had been going towards her college on foot. But the attempt was foiled when the girl ran for cover in a police chowki in the sector and asked for help. The alleged abducors fled when the cops came out. The president of the Janadhikar Sanghtan Morcha, Mr Vidya Bhushan Aghi has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the town and especially in HUDA sectors. He has demanded adequate patrolling and security arrangement to prevent such incidents.
