CAR-BORNE miscreants kidnapped a seven-year-old boy while his mother was taking him to the school bus-stop this morning in Old Faridabad. Even as the hapless mother screamed for help and passers-by watched, the miscreants drove off with her son in a blue Maruti Esteem. The incident occurred about 7.00 am when Vikrant Wadhwa, a class II student in DPS Faridabad, was being taken to the bus stop by his mother. The bus stop is barely ten yards from the Wadhwa residence in sector 18A, Old Faridabad. The minute the mother-son duo approached the road, a blue Maruti Esteem pulled up near them and one youth got off. The youth, believed to be in his early 20s, snatched Vikrant away from his mother. The kidnapper forced Vikrant into the car and the miscreants the drove off. The victim's mother could only scream for help. The kidnappers had coated the registration number of their vehicle with mud. Though the kidnappers did not get in touch with either the family or relatives, it is believed that the kidnapping has been committed for ransom. "I have no enemies and cannot think of any person who would want to harm my family," said Mr Madan Lal Wadhwa, the victim's grandfather.
