7 shops burgled

Pinjore, February 15
Thieves struck at seven shops in Isharnagar market located on the Pinjore-Mallah road and decamped with goods and cash worth lakhs late last night. They break open the locks of the shops. They also took away cash boxes of some shops and broke them at different places. The stolen cash boxes and other goods were also found on the Kaushalya river bed nearby.

Mr Somnath, owner of a sweetshop, who was sleeping inside the shop, said he noticed some miscreants trying to break open the main gate of his shop around 3 am. The thieves disappeared in the dark when he raised the alarm. Mr Kulwant Rai, president of Isher Nagar Welfare Association, said residents of the area were feeling insecure after the incident. On January 13 also, thieves had broken the locks of six shop and decamped with goods and other valuables.
