Two cases of
dowry harassment in Faridabad

The Tribune, January 15, 2004 Women harassed for dowry by in-laws Faridabad,
January 14 The victim was
even forced to leave the house. It is also alleged that the victim’s in-laws
also refused to handover the items given by her parents during the marriage.
In another case, a woman, resident of Dayalpur village in the district,
lodged a complaint with the police that her in-laws at Bukharpur village had
been harassing her for her inability to fulfill her dowry demands. She had
been beaten up several times since her marriage in February 2002. She has
alleged that the police had not taken up the matter seriously despite her
complaints earlier. |
