The police found the decomposed body of a taxi driver, identified as Subhash of Rohat village (Sonepat), from a field at Fazalkpur village under the Baghpat Banoli (Uttar Pradesh) police station. The police have registered a case of murder against the two unidentified youths who had hired the car, which was driven by the victim on December 5,2003.

According to a report, the duo had come to Subhash and hired his car on the pretext of distributing the marriage invitation cards at Budhana village in UP. Before leaving for Budhana village, the duo had told Subhash that they would like to visit Murthal for picking up a relative. After the halt at Murthal, they reportedly drove away the car towards UP where they allegedly killed the driver with some sharp-edged weapons and threw the body in a sugarcane field there. Later, the owner of the field informed the police about the body. The UP police arrived at Sonepat and succeeded in identifying the body with the help of the parents of the victim.
