Crime in the district staged a comeback when two occupants of a dera were killed by unidentified persons at Chandoli village, near here, late on Monday night. According to the police, Shiv Nath and Maha Nath were killed and their faces disfigured by the killers who threw acid on them. The DSP (Headquarters), Mr O.P. Narwal, visited the spot to take make an on-the-spot assessment of the case. A case has been registered.

Death toll rises: The mystery death figures have risen to five in Raskeda village in the district. As many as four persons have been admitted to the local Civil Hospital. According to information, a child, Farman, died on Monday. With his death panic has gripped the village. Sources said the family had prepared “ladoos” peppered with some “poisonous” substance, which led to the death of five persons. Concerned villagers today asked the district administration to order a probe due the mystery deaths. The sources said the exact cause of the death could only be ascertained after medical tests.
