Three robberies in Sonepat area

JE robbed of Rs 10,000

Sonepat, February 17
Mr Azad Singh, a junior engineer of the Irrigation Department, was robbed of Rs 10,000 by three unidentified motor cycle-borne youths on a canal embankment near Nahra-Nahri village, about 25 km from here, today. According to police sources, Mr Azad Singh was going on a bicycle to his village when he was waylaid by the youths and robbed of Rs 10,000. Mr Azad Singh has lodged a complaint with the Kundli police in this connection. The police investigations were in progress and the culprits are still at large.

According to another report, two gur traders were also robbed of their cash near Sector 12 here today. They were coming on a horse-cart loaded with gur towards Sonepat for selling the commodity. When they reached near Sector 12 a man came to them and talked about the sale of gur. He offered them “ladoos”. When they ate the ladoos they became unconscious. Thereupon, the man took the entire cash and fled.
