Four undertrials escape from jail

HISAR, Feb 28 — In a daring act, four undertrials escaped from the Central Jail here in a filmy style last evening, jail sources said today. They jumped from the jail well with the help of a rope. Those who escaped were Rahul, alias Pintu, a resident of Nazafgarh (Delhi), Narender, a resident of Mitrac (Delhi), Suresh, alias Henkla, resident of Budana in Narnaund tehsil of Hisar district, and Nerender, alias, Nanu, a resident of Madangarhi (Delhi). According to jail sources, some persons came in a Tata Sumo and in a Maruti car near the southern side of the jail. They reportedly tied rope with a tower and threw the rope inside the jail premises. The four undertrials escaped with the help of the rope. They were facing murder, dacoity and other criminal charges. They escaped in these vehicles. Some other undertrials also tried to escape with the help of this rope, but were noticed by the staff on duty. The district police chief, Mr Sohan Lal, issued red alert after the incident and sealed the borders. The Delhi police has also been informed. Several police parties have been sent to various places for combing operations. The Civil Lines police has registered a case under Sections 224 and 225 of the IPC against these undertrials and 21 other undertrials who allegedly helped them in escaping, the jail sources said.
