Sonepat, January 7
A woman, Usha, was poisoned to death in her in-laws house reportedly by her husband and other members of the family in Adarsh Nagar here last night. On complaint by Mr Upender, brother of Usha, the Civil Lines police has registered a case of dowry death against Pardeep, husband of Mrs Usha, his mother Satya Devi, father Mahinder and two others, and started investigations into the complaint.

However, no arrest has been made in this connection so far as all persons named in the FIR are still absconding. It is alleged that Mrs Usha, the Sanchalika of Maharishi Dayanand Paramedical Institute was forced to take poisonous substance by her in-laws and her condition worsened. She was taken to a private nursing home near Murthal Adda but she could not survive. In the meantime, the police and her brother arrived there. The police sent the body for the post-mortem examination and registered a case of dowry death against her husband and other members.
