A promising young cricketer was stabbed to death by his schoolmates and friends here on Friday. The Faridabad police have arrested six delinquents under sections 148.149 and 302 IPC. Ajay Khurana, 16, a Class XI student of Vohra Public School, Ballabhgarh, was apparently intimate with a girl whom he met during private tuitions given by one of his teachers at school. This was not liked by his friends, Abhilash and Ashish who threatened him on January 7 that if he did not stop meeting her, he would be taught a lesson. Following the brawl, he stopped going for tuitions, and narrated the whole incident to his father.

However, his father, Om Prakash Khurana, persuaded him to carry on, assuring that he would intervene and settle the matter. On Friday, Ajay, was accosted by six young men while he was going for his tuitions. After hitting him repeatedly, one of them took out a knife and stabbed him. Ajay succumbed to his injuries later in the Escorts Hospital. All the six, booked under section 148,149 and 302 IPC, have been arrested. It is still not known whether his friends had a hand in the murder of Abhilash.
