Youth murdered near Sonepat

BODY FOUND
SONEPAT: The Ganaur police recovered an unidentified body of a 20-year-old youth lying on the Ganaur-Garhi Jhinjhara road, about 25 km from here, on Monday. According to a report, the body bore some injuries inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon and its neck was separated from it. The police believes it to be a case of murder and a case has been registered in this connection.

SONEPAT, March 22 — Shopkeepers of Ganaur, a subdivisional town in this district, kept their shutters down yesterday to register their protest against the killing of a youth, Pawan Kumar (18), and inefficiency of the police to apprehend the culprits. According to a report, irate residents took out a procession and raised slogans against the police and the administration. They also blocked traffic near the bus stand, resulting in a traffic jam. The traffic blockade was lifted only after the authorities said that the SHO of Ganaur police station had been placed under suspension and that the culprits would be booked. The case has been handed over to the CIA staff. The body of Pawan Kumar was recovered by the police on the Ganaur-Garhi Jhinjhara road in a decomposed condition yesterday. The youth had been missing since March 6 and the police had recovered his scooter from a cycle stand on March 13. Two persons Dharamvir and Yad Ram, were taken into custody for interrogation but were later let off. The victim was employed at Raju Video Parlour, Ganaur. He had been sent along with another youth, Mycle (20), for installing a VCR on March 6. When he did not return, an FIR was lodged with the police.
