Bid to rob bus conductor

ROHTAK, Jan 18 — Three youths opened fire in a Haryana Roadways bus near Pakasma village last night and attempted to snatch cash from the conductor. While no one was injured, the culprits were able to flee. According to police sources the bus, belonging to Sonepat depot, was coming to Rohtak. When it reached near Paksama crossing at about 8.30 p.m. three youths stood up and one of them opened fire in the air to scare the conductor and passengers. It is reported that they tried to snatch the hand bag of the conductor Sultan Singh but did not succeed. However, they got down when the bus slowed near the village, about 15 km from here. The police has registered a case in this connection.
