IN YET another case of murder, a youth was reportedly shot dead by three persons in the Pt D. D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences campus here last night. This is third case of murder reported in the district during the past three days. According to police sources, the latest incident took place at about 10.30 p.m. last night when three to four youths came to a house in 14-J quarters of the PGIMS campus last night and asked for Sharvan Kumar, son of Hari Mohan at his house. When they were told that Sharvan was not present at that time, the youths said they would come after an hour. The suspects returned about half an hour later and opened fire on Sharvan and his two friends who were accompanying him. Sharvan died on the spot, while his friends were injured. Their condition is stated to be out of danger. The assailants then reportedly fled on foot. The incident is reported to be the result of an inter-gang rivalry. Mahesh, the brother of one of the suspects, was allegedly murdered by some persons two months ago near a petrol pump on outer Quilla road. It has been learnt that Sharvan's brother, Mohabir, was involved in the murder of Mahesh, a resident of Saini-Anandpura colony. Mohabir is in judicial custody at the moment.
