Youth shot at, injured

PANIPAT, April 5 — Mukesh (21) of Manana village was shot at and seriously injured by two gunmen in daylight in front of the local Seema theatre yesterday.
The gunmen, identified as Mahabir and Gulab of Badoli village under the Rai police station in Sonipat district, were caught by the people and handed over to the police.
The incident took place when Mukesh was returning after appearing in a court along with his parents in a rickshaw.
Mukesh was taken to the Civil Hospital from where he was shifted to the PGI, Rohtak.
Old enmity is stated to be behind the assault.
The police has registered a case under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act against Mahabir, Gulab, Chander and Partap on a complaint of Mukesh's father.
