Software for DOS (MS-DOS, DR-DOS, OpenDOS, etc.)

The Access DOS Menu  (7/2/99. 359K)

Nothing to do with the MS database system, this is a useful and neat little DOS menu GUI. Two columns, one showing categories of files, the other the files within the categories. You just point and click.

DESK 2 (7/2/99. 580K)

Another DOS-based GUI. This one tries to imitate Windows, and does quite a neat job at it too. Has a 'Program Manager'-style approach to files, and a host of utilities. Colourful and quick. Originally commercial software, now free. German author, but this is an English version.

AMI2000 (7/2/99. 9K)

AMI BIOS test for year 2000 compliance. Very useful. Use it in conjunction with CMOSTXT perhaps?

CHART (7/2/99. 92K)

Text-based flow charter for DOS. Useful for those of you with a more scientific and technical bent?

EquiCopy (7/2/99. 33K)

Very useful utility that makes exact copies of 3.5" disks to 5.25" disks (and vice-versa). Some of us still have software on the old format so this could (?) bring it out of retirement. Shareware.

EMM286 (7/2/99. 5K)

This is for those with ancient 80286-based machines that need access to some expanded memory. EMM286 does what EMM386 does on 386+ PCs... provides LIM memory access. I don't need it much now... but your mileage may differ. Try it out and see.
