Thurs:Dec31:1998> New Year's Eve night, tune to NBC to catch hackers/phreakers etc., holding up "FREE KEVIN" signs. I have been discussing various ideas on the Kevin Mitnick List and some ideas include Reflective tape on the sides of windows, people handing out "FREE KEVIN" pins, bumper stickers. One of the first (and fairly impractical) ideas was to reprogram the lighting fixtures on the New Year's Ball to flash "FREE KEVIN", however, it is too late for this. Turn to channel 10 (In most cases)and keep your eyes open.
Jan1:00> A bug has been found related to the Y2K problem in various VCRs. If your day is wrong on the VCR view screen, simply set your VCR Date & Time back to January First, Ninetine Eighty Seven, which carries the same days and dates as 2000.
Thurs:Dec31:1998> Kevin Mitnick, who has been serving jail time with a fair trial or without bail, has been moved back from the 6th floor to the 5th South. There, he will lose all his privleges that he has long earned, such as better meals, and other earnings. However, since he has been moved back, more things have been taken away, such as meals and reading material. And even more upsetting, Kevin Mitnick will be ringing in the New Year sleeping on the cold, concrete floor. Mitnick was moved because of "Security Reasons", however, it is said that the wardens moved him because they feared he would communicate with another inmate through the airvent.
