Hardware: Pilot's HotSync Connector

Good new folks, it's a standard RS232c port! The docking cradle and laptop cables are essentially straight through serial cables. The Pilot is sold by USR who, by the way, sells a modem or two. Given an adapter to the edge card connector, any old modem can plug into the pilot. This has possibilities for cellular modems, GPS, pagers, IR, and serial printers. The two notches on the bottom edges are for these kinds of clip-on devices. I'm waiting for someone to write a 2 player game using Pilot modem cables and a null modem adapter.

If anyone has knows of a company that sells the 10 pint edge card connector, please drop me a note!

Here's the pin outs on the Pilot's connector.

Pilot: 10 pin edge card connector, numbered 1 to 10 left to right.

DB9 Female: Standard pin numbering: top row 1 to 5 right to left, bottom row 6 to 9 right to left.
