Backlighting is probably the most requested feature for the Pilot. There's no easy way to add it, but it can be done! One student in Japan has done it, and posted photos at his site. Sadly he didn't post schematics, directions, or batter life results.

There is another option- this time from USR themselves. The new model of Pilot, called the "Palm Pilot" has it built in. Early press releases claim that battery life is not affected, but I'll believe it when I see it. <grin> The PalmPilot will be officially released March 10^th.
