Kinda hard to even try to put this section into words. Have you ever tried to talk about a subject you hardly know about, and when you learn more, you feel even worse?

Ok...guess I'll start with what I DO know... and we'll go from there.

One day, my friend and business partner came to me and mentioned there would be a motorcade to escort the "Moving Wall"; a smaller version of the Vietnam Memorial. He said he was trying to get as many bikes together as he could to escort the wall in, so I mentioned I'd try to be there.

As you can see, not only did I make it, but it appears that about 70+ others did too. What a nice sight....to see all these people together. The following pics are that of the parking lot of the VVA as we assembled to escort the Wall to downtown Pontiac, Michigan.

When I first laid eyes on this monument, I could have cried. The enormity of it was heart-breaking. I couldn't even walk up to it. I watched from inside the safety of the security tent, so I wouldn't have to see the names of those that gave the ultimate for their country. I knew I would have to sooner or later...but later seemed better for me.

After these shots, I took my weary heart and shaking hands, climbed on my bike and rode home. What else could one do after seeing the representation of over 58,000 young lives lost in a battle that no one could really win?

I did, however, make it up to the Wall. As you can see for yourself from the pictures below, even though you don't know the names of these brave men, your heart aches just seeing a name and wondering what their families were like and maybe what they could have become had they had not served our great country.
