Traps & Doors
Last Updated - 17th March 1999
This page takes a look at the awesome array of Traps and Doors that will feature in Dungeon Keeper II.
All Information Obtained From DarkSword
From the magical Fear trap to the sheer destructive power of the Boulder Trap, they're all here. Although not yet in great detail, we hope to gain much more information about the traps and doors that will be churned out of the Workshop before the game is released. If you know any details (official) then please send them to us and we'll place it here.
| Barricade - No Picture Yet | The Keeper's equivalent of Razor wire. The Barricade blocks doors and corridors and allows long-range missile troops such as the Dark Elf and Warlock to snipe at intruders. Eventually heroes will be able to hack their way through the barricade and continue their descent into your evil empire.
| Boulder Trap - No Picture Yet | The Boulder trap is a delicious case of overkill, reducing entire parties of adventurers to a slightly nutty pate. The rolling corridor crusher may be slightly restrained and refined, but you'll still need to design your rat-runs cleverly to avoid this deathtrap backfiring
| Fear Trap - No Picture Yet | The Fear Trap is activated by a pressure tile and causes creatures to flee in terror. Any creature unfortunate enough to set off this trap will spin 180-degrees and return from whence they came..
| Fireburst Trap - No Picture Yet | This trap is very expensive in terms of mana, but is also very powerful. When activated it radiates a huge blast of magically powered energy over a wide radius. Any enemy creatures or heroes caught up in its fiery embrace take copious amounts of damage.
| Gas Trap - No Picture Yet | When activated the Gas Trap releases a poisoned gas, which in the tight confines of the dungeon seeps into the armour of even the most strongly protected hero.
| Sentry Trap - No Picture Yet | The Sentry is a small cannon which fires bolts of magical energy It makes an excellent and inexpensive guard unit, propelling magic missiles at any hero that comes within range.
| Spike Trap - No Picture Yet | The Spike Trap relies on its concealment to work effectively, stepping on it causes the entire floor tile to swivel, whereupon a large disembowelling skewer shoots up to deliver its deadly message.
| Trigger Trap - No Picture Yet | An ingenious device which allows you to link a series of traps and then set them all off at once in a cataclysmic chain reaction.
| Braced Door - No Picture Yet | The Braced Door is a huge rolling slab of stone protuding from the rock. Perfect for denying over inquizitive creatures access to parts of the dungeon.
| Portcullis - No Picture Yet | The Portcullis thunders down from the ceiling, blocking of corridors to invading Heroes. Use it to secure the more important areas of the dungeon from unwanted attention
